Welcome to a rare and magnificent gift of nature. This subdivision is about big open spaces with views that reach out into an endless panorama 75 miles of unobstructed views bringing 1.4 million acres into your immediate view! The design concept, with underground utilities, building envelopes and protective covenants was created for the like-minded - those who would want to build their dream home while at the same time preserving the land, views and open spaces. Please note: All state, local and utility permits and easements have been obtained and the subdivision is ready for building. Summers, at nearly 1,700 feet above sea level, are warm with giant puffy white clouds floating almost overhead, casting huge and fast moving shadows across the large open field. With such an expanse of land, the views are in constant flux generating an endless labyrinth of ever- changing picturesque images. Just before sundown, a gentle wind stirs up as cooler air descends. Temperatures can drop quickly and nights are generally cool. Small flickering lights appear in the distance, as clusters of civilization appear strewn across the dark mountain ranges. Being in the cradle of nature up here, many a morning will feature a blanket of fog below and, at night, some of the stars even appear below on the horizon. Fall, as you can see in the Gallery, is glorious and winter is a sportsman’s paradise with Stowe, Jay Peak and Burke Mountain as easy commutes. On the mountain, temperatures are actually warmer in winter than in the valley and conversely cooler in the summer. Glover and West Glover are picturesque. In the center of Glover is Currier’s (the large family owned general store) Jim has pretty much everything and the store is almost next to Dexter Mountain Road. Glover has three beautiful and very peaceful lakes not to mention Crystal Lake (8 minutes) and the queen of Vermont lakes, Lake Willoughby, only 15 minutes away. I 91 is nearby as is Barton, with additional shopping and a pharmacy hosting an old-fashioned soda fountain with kids devouring incredibly huge ice creams absolutely Rockwell! Just a short distance away is Newport and St. Johnsbury with extensive shopping and hospitals associated with Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH. I would like to mention that the Eastern Townships of Quebec offer pristine villages, fine Québécois dining and numerous resorts such as Bromont, Sutton, Mt Orford and Magog along Lake Memphremagog. En Provence is only 20 minutes away. The Northeast Kingdom, between two countries and cultures, is the last of the great wide-open spaces in Vermont. The GINN Corporation is planning a 15 year $100 million investment transforming Burke Mountain into a year-round resort. The Northeast Kingdom has entered into a uniquely new concept called Geotourism with National Geographic See www.travelthekingdom.com for details. This area is rural, rustic, and incredibly beautiful and enjoys a peacefulness that defies definition. It's "a state of mind" rather than a place.
